Peacock Hotel

158 Christleton Rd, Chester CH3 5TD, UK – 01244 434110

Good pub in a great location serving lovely steaks on sizzling plates with SKY/BT showing every sport! New manager seems to have very high standards and there is a nice feel about the place.

Great food, prices were very reasonable and it was a lovely environment. Generous servings of pudding so I shall be returning

The Cheshire Cat

Whitchurch Rd, Christleton, Chester CH3 6AE, UK – 01244 332200

My husband and I were sceptical of this vast ranging building (old stately home) that has flung it's doors open to the masses. Previous visits weren't very satisfying and we weren't impressed with the food and drink. As we'd had a long walk along the Canal and couldn't find another coffee outlet, we sought refuge in a quiet room. The service was friendly and we enjoyed coffee and apple pie. The rooms are decorated well. We would go back during the week or on Saturday but probably avoid 'family day' on Sundays.

Definitely one of the better pubs in the area! Creative and traditional menu, something for everyone. Beautiful location and lovely building. After a meal we walk along the canal and chat to the boaters. I personally recommend the Stilton & mushroom starter and rhubarb gin with fevertree tonic. I wouldn't bother with the carrot cheesecake, the carrot cake bit is dry. However, I find the staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Different members of the bar and service staff have gone out of their way to make me happy. It's a great place for kids and dogs are welcome in the outside seating areas. I keep going back, haven't been able to fault anything yet! It's a popular and busy pub so can often take a bit of time to be served but that doesn't detract from the experience for me!

Second time I've visited the spa here I would highly recommend it. Friendly staff can't do enough to help. Treatments both time have been luxurious, fabulous therapists. We also had lunch light and healthy cake of day for dessert. Great day thank you.

The food serve in this place was amazing to say the least. The staff were warm and friendly and we had a very comfortable bed and slept perfectly. Magical entertainment provided also.

Fat Boys Kebab And Pizza

124 Christleton Rd, Chester CH3 5TD, UK – 01244 639295

Friendly, professional, fresh, clean and tastes good. Will prepare how you want it cooked and tailored. You can ask for different portion sizes. Delivery fast and always hot on arrival. Can be healthier as flame grilled and have large salad instead of chips. Kids have with side order of chopped cucumbers and crunchy fresh salad. Always ask if not sure and they cater to your needs.

Great food, great service, who doesn't like being a fatboy

The Black Dog

Whitchurch Rd, Waverton, Chester CH3 7PB, UK – 01244 335020

Menu is fantastic, up market food without unnecessary additions. Classically modern! Service is friendly without being overbearing. Approachable staff. Quality of the food is without fault. Attention to each plate ensures good portions and great taste. A great range of wines and ales and plenty of spirits for those who need something a little stronger. Atmosphere is friendly without being too loud. Highly recommend you book ahead to save being disappointed as this is truely a local treasure. Facilities are smart, clean and accessible. Highly recommend to families, couples or even just a quick bite. Thank you for a particularly enjoyable lunch

Food Was very nice and a nice beer garden to sit in, maybe a little pricey but happy with our stopover

Premier Inn Chester Central South East

Caldy Valley Road, Great Boughton, Chester CH3 5PR, UK – 0871 527 8232

Honest feedback, I stayed for 3 nights, the towels were not replaced. It's not something that you should have to ask for. Other than that I have no complaints. Parking is good and there is a brewers fayre next door with a bar.

Good location, nice clean rooms and very friendly staff

Plenty of parking. Lovely children's outdoor play area and outdoor seating. Staff pleasant. Clean and friendly place. Food delicious. Would recommend a visit

Excellent Sunday roast lamb, almost as good as mine! Good value at £11.95. Very welcoming friendly staff apart from 1 bar person who although polite was rather stand offish. Our party of 8 was seated in conservatory which is rather noisy. Go early on Sunday.lunchtime as very busy later on & car park packed.
