Pub Food with Reviews, Maps and Links to their websites

The Bridge Inn

111 Tarvin Rd, Chester CH3 5EF, UK – 01244 641781

The pub recently came into new ownership and it's absolutely fantastic, lovely fresh food (no microwave rubbish or pre made meals ordered in), large variety of food and drinks, excellent value for money, this pub is suitable for anyone of any age. I'd highly reccomened a visit!

Not a place I would re-visit saying that, the two female staff who took our order and served us were charming, polite and professional. The problems started when a rather large gentleman, (I use the term loosely) put in an appearance, he may have been the owner, he exuded self confidence and a little arrogance. He used language that young children should not have heard. We were celebrating my birthday, meaning several generations were gathered together. The food was edible but nothing to write about.

Ring O' Bells

Village Rd, Christleton, Chester CH3 7AS, UK – 01244 335422

Brilliant food, beautiful pub, decent pint. Only reason not 5 stars was the hit-and-miss take service. Sat waiting with empty plates, and dessert menus took 15 minutes to appear. Service when we had it was friendly and courteous, just didn't seem to be able to get it!

Fantastic pub, food is great and staff is very friendly. There is really nothing to criticise on it, superior to every other pub I've been to around Chester. Not only is the whole decor of the place extremely "gentleman"-like, it is also classy, comfortable and homely. Pizzas are fantastic.

The Plough Inn

Plough Ln, Christleton, Chester CH3 7PT, UK – 01244 336096

Very cyclist friendly pub! Walked straight into two big pints of water to get hydrated and then had a lovely dinner at the pub watching England play. Food was really good and staff was super friendly and accommodating, best pub experience we have had in England. Highly recommended!

Lovely little place for a meal. Took the kids, they absolutely devoured their meal and our steak was very well cooked. Friendly staff who somehow managed to double wait our table, aside from being asked everything twice, it was a great atmosphere. The park was a little naff, bit of an anticlimax for the kids to only have a slide and sideways swings made of tyres. Other than that, it was quite nice.

Brewers Fayre Twirl Of Hay

Caldy Valley Rd, Great Boughton, Chester CH3 5PR, UK – 01244 315766

Have visited a few times recently. Sampling the breakfast offerings and main meals of an evening. The breakfasts are first class. All inclusive cooked, continental and drinks. Plus the bonus of 2 children eat free per paying adult. The selection is excellent and the cooked side although on a self serve is refreshed regularly and hot. The main meals have always arrived within 25 minutes and hot. The salad on when ordered has always been fresh. The puddings are scrumptious. There is also the added bonus of a lovely playzone here. At £3 per child it is worth it. You can also choose to eat in the play area if you want to be closer to the kids. The staff that we have encountered have always been very friendly and also interact with the children. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a reasonable price decent meal.

Good playbarn area with tables for families to eat at. You can order your food and drinks from the play area as well which means you don't have to leave the kids. The food is good value and the kids menu has pictures for each item so you can see what you're going to get - helpful if you have fussy kids. Free refills on coffee is great for the grown-ups.

Chinese Restaurants serving the Tarvin area

Sun Do Chinese Takeaway

32 Vicars Cross Rd, Chester CH3 5NL, UK – 01244 318326

Good offering, freshly cooked to order and very tasty. Also, you don't get queue jumped by Deliveroo and Just Eat

Excellent quality food. Highly recommend.

LIPSS Chinese takeaway

100 Chester Rd, Huntington, Chester CH3 6BT, UK – 01244 749633

Always very pleasant service cannot fault it in any way

Chinese/Malaysian food as it should be. I have travelled extensively throughout Asia and Lipss is up there with the best of them. The only downside I can see is they do not do deliveries. This is a shame as if they did I would most probably order on a regular basis especially during the winter months.

The Black Dog

Whitchurch Rd, Waverton, Chester CH3 7PB, UK – 01244 335020

The Black Dog is set in a beautiful location in Waverton and the pub itself is lovely. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious, definitely a good place to try out and fun on Tuesday night when they have a quiz!

Awesome. The Best restaurant in Chester in my opinion. It's not over run with children, and has a great atmosphere. Good home cooked meals, reasonably priced too.
