We didn't stay in the hotel but went swimming with our newborns in the afternoon. Although the staff were lovely and very welcoming, I was quite disappointed with the gym itself. Despite the fact that they have baby swim lessons here, the changing facilities were not adequate. Just to get into the room you have to battle with 2 doors that open in different directions, which I know sounds picky but when you have a baby in one arm and changing bag etc in the other, it makes things pretty tricky. There was 1 changing table (Which the staff member helpfully took into the changing room for us) but nowhere else that we could use so it took much longer to get ready. The pool itself was fairly good and the babies enjoyed their time in the water however. The water was cooler than I had expected so probably won't be heading back as there are other pools closer to me at the same temperature. I'd say it's fine to visit with older children but not great with a baby.
Staff all very helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Bed was very comfy. Unfortunately though, the main reason for staying the night in a hotel is to sleep and we got none of that. The room was so hot! The windows only opened 20cm or so. There was a fan provided that was too noisy and turned itself off after 2 hours, so we were up several times in the night to turn it back on. We kept the blackout curtains open, hoping they would let some air in, but it meant the sunlight came streaming in at 5am. It was 22 degrees outside but felt 4 or 5 degrees higher than that in the room. A box of chocolates we had brought all melted and were completely liquid! Dread to think what it will be like in summer.

Lovely hotel. Look out for the Groupon offers, I had a free spa treatment with mine.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rowton hall hotel. The Groupon deal offers exceptional value for money. The food was excellent, top quality (compliments to the chef) and the staff were very helpful, polite and curtious. The spa was relaxing and a nice additional touch for a weekend away. Recommended ☺

Have stayed at this hotel many times now when visiting friends in Chester. Provides what it promises on the label. Good room, good bed, good bathroom, value for money. Hot weather makes rooms a little uncomfortable although fan provided in room does help.
Clean and decent sized rooms. Staff were very nice. Short drive from the city centre and a big sainsburys store across the road. Quiet part of town.

Seriously one of the nicest meals I've ever had. You must try the deep fried mushy peas. Out of this world!
Brilliant food, beautiful pub, decent pint. Only reason not 5 stars was the hit-and-miss take service. Sat waiting with empty plates, and dessert menus took 15 minutes to appear. Service when we had it was friendly and courteous, just didn't seem to be able to get it!

Nice setting alongside the canal. Visited on a Saturday lunchtime for a drink and watch the boats go by. Accommodation is available here in buildings set in the gardens. Not stayed but again a nice setting and you can walk into Chester along the tow path. Friendly staff nice food and good selection of bar snacks are available.
One night stop. Great restaurant and bar staff. I had a very good meal, both main course and desert were spot on. My room was in an out building. Comfortable but small however, since I was asleep, who cares. Water pressure was poor from the shower. Typical English pub/hotel combination. Nice location by the canal. Good sized car park.

Had a few beers, all cool, all served great and all tasted lovely. Bar staff were fantastic and I had a steak ciabatta with chips... was cooked just as I like it. I believe this pub has much more potential so it'll be nice to see the progress, but today I enjoyed my service and produce.
Yes it's ok. Beer good ....food good.

B AND B what a lovely place. Fantastic breakfast, lovely host, our host helped us with local knowledge and where to visit and where to eat. Will be back I am sure.
Very comfortable, friendly hosts, lovely breakfast - what more could you want!
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Lovely campsite quiet, and open. Really close to The zoo, good cleaning facilities. Showers were great. You wouldn’t need anything else. And the owners dog is the most welcoming employee.
Great relaxed BH weekend with friends, rustic friendly site which is what we like 😁
