The Cheshire Cat Innkeeper's Lodge Chester

Whitchurch Road, Christleton, Chester CH3 6AE, UK – 0845 112 6022

Great accommodation superb food very friendly service

Breakfast not great. Slow service

Rowton Hall Hotel & Spa

Whitchurch Rd, Rowton, Chester CH3 6AD, UK – 01244 335262

Good location, friendly staff in the hotel and spa. Lovely spa treatments. Felt thoroughly relaxed and revitalised.

Beautiful place a little way from Chester centre. Staff were very helpful and friendly, place was very quiet the time I visited and the food was nice. The spa was amazing and staff are really professional. Only two things that could have made it perfect. The swimming pool wasn't as warm as I'd have liked, especially for winter - but quickly get used to it. And a bigger point, is the shower in my room. I'm 6ft1 and I didn't fit under the shower head, and because this was a non adjustable ceiling down shower, I had no choice but to either tilt my head awkwardly or half squat. Otherwise, great stay, definitely recommend and definitely would visit again!

Mercure Chester Abbots Well Hotel

Whitchurch Rd, Christleton, Great Boughton, Chester CH3 5QL, UK – 0844 815 9001

Whilst first impressions were good, in that the communal areas were spacious and contemporary, the room I found myself in was neither of these things. There was limited storage space, the bathroom was in a less than ideal state of repair and it's no exaggeration to say that every floorboard in the room squeaked. Sound carries between rooms, especially bathrooms. It was however clean, the bed comfortable and the staff faultless. A solid 3 stars, no way a 4.

The hotel is very nice. The staff in the hotel are very friendly and always happy to help. Rooms are very clean and the bed are very comfy. Housekeeping staff are exceptional. Not all rooms have mini fridges but some do, you can request one and if one is available they will add it. There was an error in our booking so the disabled room, for my parents, was not available for all nights but the staff did their best. The food in the hotel was very nice. We did have to send one meal back as it was cold but they were happy to sort it. One member of our party was ill and the staff and house keeping made every effort to help, supplying chilled water in a jug and a cup of hot honey and lemon. Cost of drinks are slightly above average. There is a Gym, Pool, Sauna and Jacuzzi. The gym staff are exceptional. There is disabled access to the gym and pool. Sadly, both disabled stair lifts were out of order and watch out for the disabled automatic door as it closed on our wheel chair and closed again as my mum was going through, but pressing the button opens it again instantly. All in all a really good hotel.

The Cheshire Cat

Whitchurch Rd, Christleton, Chester CH3 6AE, UK – 01244 332200

We stayed here for the weekend. The staff are all lovely, polite and helpful. We stayed in Room 2 (Merlin Room) was lovely and big and had lovely views. The food is also excellent here and a good choice of breakfast. Would definitely stay here again. We spent the day at Chester Zoo which is only 10 minutes down the road.

First class food, family friendly, and absolutely excellent service. Friendly, open, helpful. Just fantastic. Could not recommend "The Cheshire Cat" more.

Ring O' Bells

Village Rd, Christleton, Chester CH3 7AS, UK – 01244 335422

what a nice place. they do have really nice pizzas too. It is Naples-style pizza, so quite soft and with loads of tomato. Definitely worth a try

Slow service but the food and drinks are good

Rake & Pikel

The Rake & Pikel Inn, Chester Rd, Huntington, Chester CH3 6BS, UK – 01244 351500

Food has always been really good here and since reopening I am glad to say that has not changed, the best thing is the prices have been lowered on both food and beer! The decor is not very cosy and it's very bright in there but id still recommended it though. they have the football on too! Overall pretty decent pub.

A newly decorated local pub. Great choice of draft lager and beer. Simple but great food and large outdoor space

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

B AND B what a lovely place. Fantastic breakfast, lovely host, our host helped us with local knowledge and where to visit and where to eat. Will be back I am sure.

Amazing place. I am very hard to please but cannot fault this B&B. It is amazingly clean modern very comfortable, beautiful views i would highly reccommend it.

Premier Inn Chester Central South East

Caldy Valley Road, Great Boughton, Chester CH3 5PR, UK – 0871 527 8232

Lovely hotel. Nice big room, clean and tidy. Staff incredibly friendly and welcoming. Loads of car parking. Handy Sainsbury's across the road and a mini retail park. Would highly recommend this particular Premier Inn. We have stayed in many which are genuinely all the same but this one just had the edge. Very naughty Ben n Jerry's ice cream machine in reception... Yum if you fancy a midnight treat 🍦.

Excellent location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed was extremely comfortable and room spotless. Only reason for not getting 5 stars was the fact that the meal arrangements with Brewers Fayre were quite disappointing with a sub standard quality of meals.

Rowton Court Hotel

Rowton Court Hotel, Whitchurch Road,, Rowton, Chester CH3 6AF, UK – 01244 335901

Very pleasant, accommodating staff and the place was kept spotlessly clean. Just refurbished and convenient for the town. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and would cheerfully book it again.

Was abit cautious staying here because of the old bad reviews, but honestly I’d ignore them all. Hotel recently got new management and refurbed most of the hotel. Staff are lovely and welcoming. The rooms are new, clean and couldn’t fault them one bit! Good price as well! I would 100% stay here again or recommend to a friend.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

A lovely place to stay we have stayed here four times the owners are friendly the facilities are basic but very clean what else do you need when you're camping well worth a visit

Great location, fair price, but facilities need a good clean and owners allow their dog to do its business in the camping field!
