Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Tarvin

Brewers Fayre Twirl Of Hay

Caldy Valley Rd, Great Boughton, Chester CH3 5PR, UK – 01244 315766

A lovely Christmas lunch with chocolate brownie. The Carol singers were lovely. The staff were very friendly and cheerful. The food arrived very quickly. I have been coming to this restaurant for a couple of years and can honestly say I have never had a bad meal. One thing I do like about this place. Is the back ground music is loud enough to hear. But does not drown conversations that one is having with ones friends. Very important and the management team here have got it just right. See you next week *****

Went here a few times recently as I was staying in Chester for a family member's birthday. Staff very friendly and efficient, good food and varied menu. Very good value for money. Child friendly but (and this lost you a star) I did not expect to have to pay extra for the children's soft play area when 6 of us were already spending money on a 3 course meal with you.

The Cheshire Cat Vintage Inns

Whitchurch Rd, Christleton, Chester CH3 6AE, UK – 01244 332200

Nice place. Lovely waitress. Food average. Chocolate brownie dessert almost inedible - raw flour the biggest flavour followed closely by too much sugar! We shared one dessert between 3 and didn't finish it...

We've been to Cheshire cat twice now so I can only comment on limited experience. The staff are lovely, eager to serve, they serve fresh apple juice rather than concentrated juice and it's clean. The first meal we had was faultless, so tasty and full of flavour. Today the food was mediocre, I had the same meal but it was unappetising with strange flavours to it, the chicken was over cooked and really dry. Everyone else had pizza, they thought it was quite nice so I'm not sure what happened with my dish. Would it put me off going again? No but I wouldn't order the salad again. The bill for 2 pizzas, a salad and a kids pizza plus two soft drinks came to £49.70.
