Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Tarvin

Brewers Fayre Twirl Of Hay

Caldy Valley Rd, Chester, Great Boughton, Chester CH3 5PR, UK – 01244 315766

Family friendly pub offering decent value for money. Refillable drinks on offer and very often have deals on the food. Play area for the kids is always a hit with our family

Have visited a few times recently. Sampling the breakfast offerings and main meals of an evening. The breakfasts are first class. All inclusive cooked, continental and drinks. Plus the bonus of 2 children eat free per paying adult. The selection is excellent and the cooked side although on a self serve is refreshed regularly and hot. The main meals have always arrived within 25 minutes and hot. The salad on when ordered has always been fresh. The puddings are scrumptious. There is also the added bonus of a lovely playzone here. At £3 per child it is worth it. You can also choose to eat in the play area if you want to be closer to the kids. The staff that we have encountered have always been very friendly and also interact with the children. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a reasonable price decent meal.

The Cheshire Cat

Whitchurch Rd, Christleton, Chester CH3 6AE, UK – 01244 332200

Nice setting alongside the canal. Visited on a Saturday lunchtime for a drink and watch the boats go by. Accommodation is available here in buildings set in the gardens. Not stayed but again a nice setting and you can walk into Chester along the tow path. Friendly staff nice food and good selection of bar snacks are available.

One night stop. Great restaurant and bar staff. I had a very good meal, both main course and desert were spot on. My room was in an out building. Comfortable but small however, since I was asleep, who cares. Water pressure was poor from the shower. Typical English pub/hotel combination. Nice location by the canal. Good sized car park.
